PATHWAYS TO EMPLOYMENT/COMMUNITY ACCESS/LEARNING SKILLS PROGRAMS

(509) 323-7517 or (509) 323-7518          bnwccc@qwest.net

PATHWAYS TO EMPLOYMENT AND COMMUNITY ACCESS PROGRAM

Our Pathways to Employment program serves people with disabilities from the age of 21 to 62.  Each individual will be supported to pursue his or her own unique pathway to employment.  All individuals, regardless of the challenge of their disability, will be offered an opportunity to pursue competitive employment.  Our agency's role is to prepare individualized plans and goals derived from information obtained from Person Centered Plan meetings.  From these goals we provide community employment related activities such as: volunteer opportunities, mock interviews, resume development, visiting work sites, job shadowing, assessments, and job preparation classes.

For people over age 62, we provide Community Access services.  Our agency's role is to integrate the individuals into senior activities in the community or volunteer work if they desire.

LEARNING SKILLS PROGRAM

The Learning Skills Center is a private non-profit, fees-for-services program that offers a safe, structured, and supervised day program for people with developmental disabilities, ages 15 yrs and older.  The program focuses on four components: Social, Educational, Recreational and Community Integration.  We offer a wide variety of activities in a fun, loving and wholesome atmosphere.

Our mission is to enable the individual to become more independent by learning life skills opportunities in the community, making friends, and enjoying activities.  The program runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (morning session 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and afternoon session from 12-3 p.m.) Monday through Friday with occasional special events planned for evenings or weekends.  Monthly calendars are available with planned activities for each day.
